Seed Fund
The main purpose of the Fund is to enable innovators to evaluate, demonstrate and advance the value proposition and commercial potential of their research outputs. The Fund therefore contributes towards de-risking research outputs in order to increase the pipeline for TIA and other funders.
StarBiz
The StarBiz is an internal SARAO initiative designed to encourage staff members to use their expertise and experience to develop innovative commercialisation projects that either use SARAO technology or provide solutions to projects within SARAO.
Technology and Human Resources Industry Programme (THRIP)
THRIP aims to boost South African industry by supporting research and technology development and enhancing the numbers of appropriately-skilled people. THRIP brings together the best of SA’s researchers, academics and industry players.
Innovation
Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC)
The WIPO Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) program provides innovators in developing countries with access to locally based, high quality technology information and related services, helping them to exploit their innovative potential and to create, protect, and manage their intellectual property (IP) rights.
African Science Entrepreneurship (ASE)
The ASE will be implemented by SARAO, in collaboration with global experts, with the intention of developing entrepreneurs that will be equipped to produce technology innovations capable of solving socio-economic challenges of their region while being a catalyst for economic growth in the long term.
