    • The requirement of the compilation of a park management plan is set out on the SANParks website at https://www.sanparks.org/conservation/park_man/. During 2019 the NRF and SANParks signed a land management agreement appointing SANParks as the land management authority of the NRF owned land. During 2018 a first round of public participation was undertaken by SANParks, supported by SARAO to understand what the communities’ expectations of a national park in their area would be and what needs to be considered to be included in the Park Management Plan. Attached below are the reports compiled from the 1st engagement process undertaken during April 2018.
    • As indicated in https://www.sanparks.org/conservation/park_man/ SANParks follows a process in the compilation of the Park Management Plan, which is a regulatory document approved by the Minister of Environment, Forrest and Fisheries. SANParks intent to finalise the draft Park Management Plan for the newly declared MeerKAT National Park in due course and anticipate to undertake a further round of public engagements with the communities before the end of the 2020/2021 financial year.
