Since 2005, the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) has been dedicated to transforming the science and technology landscape through strategic investment in people.

  • Awarded 300+ technical and artisan training scholarships, building essential skills.

  • 67% of our universiyt alumni are black South Africans, and 48% are women—actively building a diverse and inclusive future for astronomy.

  • Our PhD output is on par with leading astronomy nations!

Our alumni are now contributing to science and industry in 15+ countries, with the majority strengthening the African continent. This is how we build the future of radio astronomy!
