Radio astronomy and the Fourier transform

The Fourier transform plays a fundamental role in all aspects of radio astronomy. This presentation introduces the concept of the Fourier transform. Both the mathematics behind the Fourier transform, as well as the physical effects these relations have on the signals.

The topic of this video also forms part of the introduction to interferometry series of talks presented in the SARAO African Radio Interferometry Winter School.
