Meet Swethani Monyayi, a PMO leader and Project Controls Specialist with over a decade of experience in leading large-scale infrastructure, engineering, construction, and research & development portfolios, programs, and projects. His expertise spans project and portfolio management, with a strong focus on value delivery, efficiency, cross- functional collaboration, effective stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
Swethani currently heads the PMO department under Engineering & Technology Development. He leads a multidisciplinary team of project managers and support services personnel, overseeing portfolio management, resource allocation, and strategic project alignment. His leadership demonstrates his ability to drive project excellence through analytical problem-solving, risk mitigation, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
Swethani’s role includes establishing and managing Project Management Offices (PMOs), standardizing processes, and implementing governance frameworks to optimize project delivery. His advanced proficiency in Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools, combined with expertise in local and international standard contract forms for construction, engineering, and infrastructure, ensures robust strategic and tactical planning and execution of complex capital projects.
Swethani holds an honours degree in Business Management and Administration and a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineering. He is a certified PMO Leader and a Project Management Professional, underscoring his commitment to continuous development and professional excellence.
