Amanda Suthukazi Calata is a dedicated People Support Practitioner at NRF-SARAO, where she has made significant contributions since joining in December 2021. With a strong background in recruitment and HR, she has played a key role in managing the employee life cycle, from onboarding to termination, and processing both international and domestic relocations.

As a versatile HR Generalist, Amanda is also responsible for coordinating logistics for HR projects, managing HR records, and fulfilling various reporting requirements. Additionally, she serves as the NRF-SARAO Wellness Coordinator and is the proud founder of the NRF-SARAO hiking club.

Before joining NRF-SARAO, Amanda honed her skills as a recruiter at WNS Global Services in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector, specifically in utilities. She holds a National Diploma in Public Management from Nelson Mandela University and a Bachelor of Technology qualification in the same field. Originally from Gqeberha, Amanda has lived in Cape Town for the past 10 years.

Amanda’s commitment to helping others is evident in her personal and professional life. She was honoured with an Employee Award at the Business Unit level, which she attributes to her kindness, eagerness to help, and the genuine relationships she has built with her colleagues. Her ability to be herself and make a positive impact in the workplace is something she cherishes deeply.

Outside of work, Amanda draws inspiration from her passion for fitness. An avid runner, hiker, and gym-goer, she thrives on pushing her limits. The satisfaction of conquering physical challenges reminds her that she is capable of overcoming difficulties, a lesson she applies both in her personal and professional life.
