SARAO congratulates Dr Lexy A.L. Andati, SARAO Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Radio Astronomy Techniques and Technologies, Rhodes University, who has been awarded an L’Oréal-UNESCO #ForWomenInScience Sub-Saharan Africa Young Talents prize for 2024. Dr Andati is an alum of the SARAO Human Capital Development programme, having been supported by SARAO in her studies from MSc level, while her PhD dissertation was entirely based on MeerKAT observations.
Dr Andati attended the awards ceremony in Cotonou, Benin, with 25 PhD candidates and 5 post-doctoral researchers from 15 countries across the Sub-Saharan African region being celebrated for their groundbreaking research. Read more on the announcement and background on the prize.
