Nomfundo Makhubo is the Stakeholder Relations Manager at the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO). She plays a key role in managing relationships with SARAO’s various stakeholders, which include governmental bodies, academic institutions, industry partners, and local communities. Her work involves fostering collaboration, ensuring effective communication, and supporting the strategic objectives of SARAO.

Having graduated from Cornell University, an Ivy League university in the United States, she spent time working in Higher Education in the USA and in South Africa. Nomfundo’s interests lie in bridging the gap between science and society, both locally and abroad.

She is a fellow at the Cornell University Institute for African Development, a One Young World Fellow, a former African Union Youth Volunteer and a winner of various international youth awards. Most recently, she has been recognized for her contributions to SARAO, including being nominated for a Stakeholder Service award.
