Ringeta Mashimbye serves as the Local Economic Development (LED) Coordinator at the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO). With over 15 years of extensive experience in community development, small business development, socio-economic development, and project management, he has worked across various sectors, including government agencies, NGOs, and mining. His professional journey includes roles at organizations such as the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), the Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority, the Independent Development Trust, and several non-governmental organizations.

Ringeta holds multiple qualifications from prestigious institutions, including the University of Limpopo, the University of Venda, the University of Johannesburg, and MANCOSA. His academic achievements reflect his commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Between 2001 and 2006, Ringeta was recognized for his outstanding contributions to youth and community development. He was awarded Youth Leader of the Year and Community Builder of the Year in the youth category by prominent organizations such as Anglo Vaal Mining, ABSA, Old Mutual, the SABC, and Trade and Investment Limpopo. These accolades highlight his dedication to empowering communities and driving positive change.

In his current role at SARAO, Ringeta leverages his wealth of experience to support local economic development initiatives, fostering sustainable growth and creating opportunities for communities surrounding SARAO’s projects.
