Philip Mey is the Functional Manager for the HartRAO engineering team who is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the 26m, 15m and 13.2m radio telescopes at the Hartebeesthoek site and its supporting infrastructure and equipment. He started at HartRAO as project manager for the 13.2m VGOS radio telescope in 2014 and thereafter took over the post of functional manager in 2019. His educational qualifications include a B.Eng (Computer Engineering) from the University of Pretoria and an MSc.Eng Electronic Engineering (Satellite Systems) from Stellenbosch University.
